NWPA Player Awards

At the end of each tour season, the NWPA proudly celebrates the dedication, growth, and sportsmanship of its players through a series of annual awards. These recognitions not only honour individual achievements but also help foster a supportive, competitive community of women in cue sports. These awards reflect NWPA’s mission to not only promote competitive excellence, but also personal growth and community in women’s pool.

Player of the Year - The NWPA honors those among us who exhibit true sportsmanship during competition, show a commitment to excellent pool, and act as mentors away from the playing area. We have been selecting a Player of the Year since 2006.

Most Improved Player - This is awarded to the player who shows the most overall improvement from one year to the next. While rising in rank and tournament finishes is important, this is a subjective award and so play is also judged without regard to actual wins and losses. We have been selecting the Most Improved Player since 2009.

Rookie of the Year - This award is for players who are new to competitive pool, and therefore all new players to the NWPA are not necessarily open for this award. Just like the Most Improved Player, this is a subjective award and while overall finishes are important, playing skill is judged on a game by game basis. We have been selecting the Rookie of the Year since 2009.

President’s Award - This award is to recognize people for their exemplary efforts with helping the NWPA grow. The recipient is chosen by the current president. They can be anyone in the community and do not not necessarily need to be NWPA players. We have been selecting President’s Awards recipients since 2019.

Only paid NWPA members are eligible for player awards.
